Abstract:

The use of natural or artificial microporous materials in technological applications is important in terms of providing a solution to the energy problem, especially in recent years, by giving successful results in hydrogen gas storage.

Not only in terms of energy storage (hydrogen gas storage), but also the stability of some small molecules with a short shelf life in order to preserve their bioactivity in the food industry is ensured by storage.

The ability to store nitrogen gas or water in microporous materials for use in some agricultural applications and to release these molecules over time after storage is still among the current research topics.

The important thing is that although these issues are known, these procedures cannot be fully controlled at molecular-nanoscopic-microscopic and macroscopic scales.

In this seminar, it will be discussed how fluid storage and release detection is performed for some composite structures prepared with materials containing natural zeolite structures. In addition, the advantages of using X-Ray Scattering (SAXS and WAXS) methods in nanoscopic tracking are among the topics to be discussed in the seminar.

Short Bio:

She completed her doctorate program in the subject of Crystallography at Hacettepe Univ. Department of Physics Engineering (1994) . She received the titles of assistant professor and associate professor in General Physics.

In 2003, she was interested in the structure analysis of nanomaterials and X-ray scattering methods and worked at the SR center called ELETTRA in Italy for one year to gain extensive knowledge and experience. She became a professor in 2004 (Hacettepe Univ. Dept. of Physics Eng.). She installed Turkey’s first laboratory type SAXS-WAXS (X-ray Scattering System) to structurally analyse nanomaterials.

With the help of her scientific experiences related to the research on nanomaterials and polymer materials, she took part in the establishment of Nanotechnology and Nanomedicine and Polymer Science and Technology programs at Hacettepe Univ, Institute of Science and Technology. She is still actively working in these department/programs. She gives lectures on Solid State Physic, Fundamentals of Physics, Biophysics, Composite Science and Technology, Designs in Physics Engineering, Laboratories (on Waves/Quantum), Dissertation, Scientific Research and Publication Ethics, SAXS-WAXS-GISAXS analysis.
